History
In late 2007, Reverend Dennis and Deaconess Lorna Meeker began working with orphans and widows in the Kibera slum of Nairobi while serving under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya. During late 2008, Jacob Fraher also began volunteering with community schools and orphanages in the Kibera slum. When Jacob discovered two desperate children in need of care, the Meekers offered to provide them both a loving home. Six months later, in July 2009, Jacob partnered with Dennis and Lorna to form CSCM as a U.S. based 501(c)(3) organization. In 2011, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour, IN began managing the U.S. side of operations and rebranded CSCM as 4KenyasKids. By the Grace of God, 4KenyasKids now supports the education of over 700 orphans through a child sponsorship program, strengthens widows and extended families to care for vulnerable children, and operates a Family Based Care Rescue Center for children in desperate need.
